A few weeks ago, a little bird showed up in my life with something to say. I knew this not because I know a lot about birds, but because he was REALLY working to get my attention. He did this in a number of ways. Tapping his beak against the glass. Flying from window to window of the room I was in and flapping his wings against the glass. Flying in to the glass…and finally sitting quietly on the window sill. Intrigued, I got as close to the window as I could…about 2 feet away and he stayed there.
Being an intuitive, I worked with the bird and my guides to understand what I needed to learn from this bird. It turns out there were several things: my longing to be worthy, how I am “showing up” in this life, patience (a perennial issue of mine), and the challenges of helping my nonogenarian father-in-law. I thanked him and went about my day.
The next day he was back. I learned I needed to delve into waking up spiritually and noticing the signs. Cool.
The next day he was back with more…and that’s when I knew it was time for a professional and called my friend and self-described “bird nerd” July Hirt (juliehirt-intuitive.com). Julie is an intuitive and animal communicator. She helped with my questions for the bird (Yes, I noticed him right away. Yes, I have received the messages he had for me correctly.) and then we went deeper.
It seems this little guy is tied to my guide team to help me open up another sense, including picking up on signs from nature which is helping me further develop my “Attracting Joy” method and round it out to make it more accessible to larger groups of people. How cool is that? Well, it got even cooler when he told Julie that my recently transitioned beautiful friend Martha was helping make it all happen (she told me she would send signs). She was the impetus for Rufus coming to help me.
Rufus? Who is Rufus? The little bird. Julie asked me if I knew his name. I didn’t, but I asked him. Rufus…cool. It turns out Rufus is a White Throated Sparrow who has the most beautiful song. My heart gladdens every time I hear it. I asked him one day what his song was and he gave me his profile and sang with carefree abandon.
Rufus has now been lighting up my mornings for almost two weeks. I can now get within a few feet of him outside. When he comes by (loves our windowsills) or when I just hear his song, I stop what I am doing to check in with him. It occurred to me today that in the past when the wild turkeys in our yard have come up to the office window when I am working and tapped on it, that they, too, had a message for me. Apparently Rufus has let them know I am “now open for listening” because as I write this a female wild turkey came near, clucking. I never notice their call/sound before. Yes, she had a message for me as well…
I loved our session with Rufus – he’s so special. And now the turkeys?? Wonderful – can’t wait to hear what about their message for you. Nature is amazing and so powerful – especially when we tune into it. Loved this post, Sally!
